Scale and tiers
The looksmaxxing scale, explained without the drama
Short answer
On looksmaxxing forums faces get rated 1–10 (the PSL scale) and grouped into tiers: Sub-5, Low/Mid/High-Tier Normie (LTN, MTN, HTN), Chadlite and Chad. It's a comparison meme, not a reliable measure: it depends on photos, lighting and taste. What's useful is tracking what you can improve: your habits.
The tiers
Women have their own version (Becky, Stacylite, Stacy). They're internet labels, not real categories.
| Tier | What forums mean by it |
|---|---|
| Sub-5 | Below average |
| LTN (Low-Tier Normie) | Low average |
| MTN (Mid-Tier Normie) | Right at average |
| HTN (High-Tier Normie) | Above average |
| Chadlite | Very attractive |
| Chad / Gigachad | The meme's extreme |
Why not to trust a score
- The photo decides: the same face changes a lot with lens, lighting and angle.
- Taste varies between people and cultures.
- Face-rating apps don't know how you move, talk or dress, which is a big part of how people see you.
- Obsessing over a number tends to sink your mood and changes nothing by itself.
What to track instead
Things that depend on you and can be counted: nights with 7+ hours of sleep, days with sunscreen, workouts per week, steps, posture checks, times you talked to someone new. If those numbers go up for weeks, the glow up follows.
Frequently asked questions
What is a Chadlite?
In forum slang, someone very attractive but not quite “Chad”. It's a meme, not a measurement.
What do MTN and HTN mean?
Mid-Tier Normie (average) and High-Tier Normie (above average).
Are face-rating apps accurate?
Not really: they depend on the photo and on the data the model was trained on. Use them as a curiosity at most, not to decide anything about yourself.
